Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? You're not the only one! Check below to see if your question (and answer) are listed below.
  • How does StrongWebmail.com work?
  • StrongWebmail.com works just like any other webmail service (ie. Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) with one exception: to log into your email account, you must receive a phone call at a phone number you provided when you signed up for your StrongWebmail.com account. How does this protect you? If someone steals your username and password, they still won't be able to break into your email account because they can't receive a call on your phone.
  • Why should I use StrongWebmail.com?
  • Email hacking has become commonplace in recent months. You probably already know someone who's had their email hacked. Once a hacker gains access to your email, he can see all the personal information you've stored there, which often includes financial statements, health records, usernames, passwords, and more. Plus, hackers often use compromised email accounts to send spam and/or ask your contacts for money via wire transfer. While this is going on, you may not even be aware that your email has been hacked. With StrongWebmail.com, your email account stays safe, guaranteed. No hackers can gain access to your account because ONLY people who can answer your telephone can log into your email account.

  • Why do I need to enter phone numbers when I sign up for an account?
  • The phone numbers you enter when you sign up are used to secure your email account. Every time you try to access your email from an unknown computer, you'll need to receive an automated call at one of these phone numbers to verify your identity.
  • Should I enter more than one phone number when I sign up?
  • You are only required to enter one phone number when you sign up, but we highly recommend entering several phone numbers. Because you'll need to receive a call to log into your email account, it's best if you enter several phone numbers that you usually have access to, such as your cell phone, home phone, and work phone.

  • How does your spam filtering work?
  • Our spam filtering system rapidly detects spam, phishing and viruses. These message fingerprints are updated in sub-minute intervals. This automated approach delivers spam filtering accuracy of 98% or higher together with near zero false positives.
  • How does your virus scanning work?
  • Approximately 2% of all incoming email messages are viruses. We lead the email hosting industry with strong server-level virus detection, including the use of two different anti-virus products and fast updates to virus signatures. The anti-virus process begins with several important pre-scanning stages, followed by two virus scanning stages and ending with virus notifications and detailed statistics.
  • What is SSL encryption and why is it important?
  • SSL stands for "Secure Sockets Layer". Secure Sockets Layer is a protocol designed to enable applications to transmit information back and forth securely. Applications that use the Secure Sockets Layer protocol know how to encrypt and decrypt data sent between them. When information is sent through a website that does not use SSL encryption, a hacker can easily intercept and read the information. If a hacker intercepts info sent over a connection that uses SSL encryption, the information the hacker sees will be encrypted, and he will not be able to decipher it. With SSL encryption, you can be sure the email you send and receive stays private.
  • Does your webmail site use SSL encryption?
  • Yes, our signup pages, webmail, and Control Panel all keep your information safe by using SSL encryption.
