Sign email, sign email, sign email, and I can’t stress this enough. I am a reporter for a local news station, and recently did a report on internet crime. The crime which happens the most is identity theft. Now this occurs in a variety of ways, but the most harmful way is through internet. I was amazed to find out what kind of information people trade through email. Some share confidential health records, business reports, accounting information, and the list goes on to anything and everything.
How this happens is by someone else gaining access to your email. This allows them to recieve every piece of information you have in order to steal your identity. Research was done, and the best option is to use a secure email account. However, the mainstream emails such as yahoo, hotmail, gmail, and aol do not have a sufficient security system.
